St. John's KIDS-This Week Thank you to Patti's Petals for donating beautiful flowers for our kids to plant! So pretty!🌼🏵🌸 Bottom Line: Be faithful so others can count on you. 🏕Fun2Do: It’s summer!! Time to dust off your tents and sleeping bags and go camping as a family. Book a local camp site and get outdoors as a family. Listen to the crickets and watch the fire flies. Not able to get a reservation, if you have a backyard, you can still go camping as a family?! Pitch a tent in the yard, pull out the sleeping bags, light a fire in the fire pit and sit around and tell fun stories. If you don’t have a yard, no problem! Clear out the living room and camp right there. Build a tent out of sheets, pile on the pillows and have family time all night. There is no excuse to not change things up and go camping. Either in the great outdoors, your back yard or your living rooms. It’s about being all together and creating a memory.

St. John's KIDS-This Week Bottom Line: Show God's goodness to others. Fun2Do: Don’t we all love a good memory match game? Kids of all ages can play and of course parent can even get a little competitive playing. But lets take this tried and true family game and make it HUGE. Create your own large scale outdoor match game. (See instructions in craft section) Once you’ve made your mega Match Game tiles, head to the yard (maybe even your front yard, invite the neighbors to play!) or head to the local park and play. This memory game is played exactly the way the small version is played. To play, lay out your tiles in a 5 tile by 5 tile square. Take turns flipping over tiles, if you match you get to keep playing. No match, flip tiles back over and it’s the next players turn. This game can be played all summer long and taken anywhere: the beach, camping, the park, family picnics and at home.

St. John's KIDS-This Week Bottom Line: Be kind to everyone. 👨‍🎨Fun2Do: Step On It Homemade stepping stones are a great way to personalize your yard and create memories that will last forever. Save your families hand prints or create your own beautiful mosaic work of art. This family fun craft will be cherished for years to come. You can purchase a kit at any local craft store. Or you can save money and buy all the supplies yourself. Basically, stepping stones are made by mixing concrete, decorating it, pouring it into a mold, and allowing it to dry. What could be simpler? Here’s what you’ll need: A mold, you can buy a mold or just use an old cake tins or baking tins work well. Quick-setting concrete Bucket, for mixing the concrete An old spoon or paint mixing stick can be used to stir. Rubber gloves, to protect hands Old newspaper and a drop cloth, to protect whatever service you are working on. Nonstick cooking spray or petroleum jelly. You’ll use one of these to line your mold. Mix-in and embellishments. To personalize your stone, you’ll want to add an interesting and colorful embellishment—and, if you’re working with children, you’ll want to offer plenty of options. Possibilities include broken bits of pottery, marbles, small toys, tiles or dice from board games, dried flowers or plant matter, sea glass, glitter, etc. How to Make: 1. Protect your work surface by putting newspaper and/or a drop cloth down, ideally outdoors. 2. Line your mold or molds with cooking spray or petroleum jelly. 3. Mix up concrete according to instructions. 4. Pour concrete mix into mold or molds. 5. Add embellishments to the top of the concrete. 6. Allow your stepping stone to dry for at least 24 to 48 hours. Remove from the mold and place it in your garden and enjoy for a lifetime!

Football Sunday! is BACK this weekend at St. John's Church! Join us at all three services for an inspiring, simulcast Gospel message from players throughout the NFL, including those in this weekend's BIG GAME! St. John's KIDS (during the 9:15am service) also has a bunch of kid-friendly BIG GAME activites in store as well! Bring a friend, wear your favorite team jersey, and join us at church!
